7th IAWRT Asian Women's Film Festival : March 5-8, 2011

The festival is being organized by the International Association for Women in Radio and Television (IAWRT) India Chapter

in partnership with

India International Centre, Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan New Delhi and Sangat South Asia

The festival will showcase the works of women film makers of Asian origin in a range of genres representing a diversity in country, content and form. The term ''Asian'' refers to origin – the film maker can be working in any part of the world.

Approximately 50 films will be screened, running the gamut from international favourites to artistic experiments along the fringes of the genre to community videos and films made by university students.


30 FOREIGN FILMS ARE SOUTH ASIAN PREMIERES.

OVER 20 FILMMAKERS WILL BE PRESENT FOR DISCUSSION AFTER THEIR SCREENINGS

Highlights include Byambasuren Davaa's THE TWO HORSES OF GENGHIS KHAN; Gulnar Tabassum's latest TWO STEPS FORWARD; Soniya Kirpalani's LOVE ARRANGED; MADE IN INDIA by Rebecca Haimowitz and Vaishali Sinha which premiered at Hot Docs, 2010; BEATING TIME by Odette Orr and MEMORIES OF A FORGOTTEN WAR by Sari Dalena.

Three packages that combine an engaging mix of animation, short fiction, experimental and documentary films from:

Travelling Festival
Selections from the 2010 and 2011 programmes are being screened in Pondicherry on March 15 and 16, 2011.
