36th IAWRT Biennial Conference

The IAWRT India Chapter is working hard to put the finishing touches on this year’s Biennial Conference.
The four-day gathering will explore themes around women’s safety and empowerment through the media. The India Chapter has secured an incredible line-up of women including Pakistan's leading human rights lawyer, Asma Jahangir, and well known independent journalist, Najiba Ayubi from Afghanistan, who will deliver a Joint Keynote Address.
BBC's award winning Chief International Correspondent, Lyse Doucet, and NDTV's Editorial Director, Sonia Singh, will speak at the first Plenary session.
Over 100 women are expected to attend - radio, TV and print journalists and documentary filmmakers from countries that include Afghanistan, Australia, Bhutan, Cameroon, Canada, Egypt, India, Kenya, Myanmar, Nepal, Norway, Pakistan, Philippines, Poland, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Uganda, UK and USA.
The conference includes the Biennial Gala Dinner where the IAWRT Awards for Excellence in radio and TV documentary are presented.
